Both Staines Brass & Staines Lammas Band are a not-for-profit community based organisation. The bands are totally self sufficient financially with all members paying monthly subscriptions which help with the financial running of the band (please note, members do not receive any payment for concert or contest appearances). We also gain funds from Concerts and Contest Prize money.

All committee members offer their services ‘free of charge’ and are also sub paying members of the band.

The bands need funds for premises, purchase of music, occasional purchase of instruments, expenses for the Musical Directors, cost of moving equipment to concerts, contest entrance fees, partial costs of commuting to contests (all other expenses covered personally by members) and many other expenses.

In 2004, Staines Brass received an extremely generous donation from an anonymous local person to pay for new uniforms as the old ones were in need of replacement and were not entirely appropriate for attending prestigious contests such as the National Championships of Great Britain! Just in time for our appearance in Harrogate in the Autumn of 2004, Staines Brass' new set of made to measure uniforms was ready and helped the band to a very respectable 3rd position. This donation also benefited the Staines Lammas Band who received the old set of uniforms, although they too have now been replaced as they were getting extremely threadbare!

There are two main ways to help support the bands other than booking either band for an engagement. You can either make a donation to the band or alternatively, you can become a Friend of Staines Brass & Staines Lammas Band.

Friends of Staines Brass & Staines Lammas

Membership of the Friends of Staines Brass & Staines Lammas is £20 per year & is open to all band members, patrons, family & friends. As part of this membership, you will be given a number which will be entered into a prize draw each quarter. These will take place in the months of March, June, September & December & where possible, will be performed at concerts hosted by Staines Brass. If this is not possible, the draw will take place during a committee meeting.

Other benefits for members will be a concession on admission at concerts run by Staines Brass & a quarterly newsletter that can be emailed or posted.
