Royal Albert Hall, National Finals 2006

After qualifying in 2nd place at the London and Southern Counties Regional Championships in March 2006, we had the opportunity to compete at the National Finals in September. The experience of playing at such a fantastic venue was second to none and we managed a respectable 11th place out of 20 Bands, beating the other London representative band.

Get Well Bob!

We would like to wish our Chairman Bob Howell the very best get well wishes since having a stroke. Having spent several weeks in hospital he is now back on the mend and looked much better at the band pub recently! Bob makes the tea at our rehearsals and the band has had a bit of a thirst on since he's been away!

L&SC Regional Championships 2006, Stevenage

On Sunday 19th March we competed in the regional championships at Stevenage following our promotion into the Championship Section. The band performed an outstanding rendition of Peter Grahams 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' and gained 2nd place! Also, our Principal Cornet player Gavin Hall was awarded the best solo cornet prize. The band should be extremely proud of themselves for this achievement having beaten some of the top bands in the L&SC area. Of course this means we will have the likes of the Black Dyke band to compete with in London!
